GmbH. The L+L Lieferservice und Logistik GmbH opens an automatic
box storage unit (AKL) in Vettelscho? It has a storage capacity
of over 10,000 boxes and enables the shipping and receipt
of 80,000 pairs of shoes a day.
A new tradition begins: The company stages its first own
trade fair in Vettelscho? an event which now takes place
twice a year. 1999 celebration of the company's 225th anniversary
with a large dealership congress. 2001 L+L* begins operation
of a new automatic ordering plant (AKA) in Vettelscho? Rhineland-
Palatinate. Computer controlled processing makes it possible
to ship and receive 6,000 pairs of shoes a day as well as
allowing delivery within 24 hours. 2002 The internationally
popular clog Boston celebrates its 25th anniversary. 2003
The Arizona model "Shoe of the Year" in 1990, turns 30.
2004 In England, Birkenstock receives the Drapers Award
as "Best Shoe of the Year" in acknowledgement of the products
timeless design making them suitable for every age group,
any occasion and all types of people. 2005 A new L+L* logistics
hall is set up next to the Birkenstock company headquarters
in Vettelscho? Rhineland-Palatinate. *These firms are independent
